Horses are tall animals that live in lots of different countries. People use them in many ways.
Horses have four legs that are very very strong to help them balance. They have two eyes two ears, one nose, a mane and a tail.
Horses live in lots of different places like farms, paddocks, stables, the wild, zoos and animal circuses.
Horses run, jump and gallop alot. They also go to yhe toilet and eat.
Life cycle:
Horses start as a foal (male) or a filly (female). During the first 12 months the foal/filly has long legs compared to its body. Two months later it will stop drinking from its dam (mother).
Did you know?
The foal or filly is born with no teeth. as it gets older, the horse grows teeth.
After this it goes onto the middle years. These are when it is 5-10 years old. By then the horse is fully formed. After this stage it is into the late years when the joints become puffy as the circulation might become less effertive.

Our end of term shared lunch
Today A3 had a shared lunch. We had it to celebrate our achievements and the end of the term. We only have one more day of school until the holidays. We had fruit kebabs, carrot and celery sticks, and bacon and cheese burgers. We had a healthy lunch because we have recently visited Pak n' Save to learn more about healthy food choices. Healthy foods can be identified by their fat total and sugar total. The fat total should be under 10 mg and the sugar total under 15 mg. I think it was a fantactic lunch and so did the class. We chose our lunch and we loved it. I liked the fruit kebabs the most. They were made of apples, oranges, bananas and a marshmallow.
This photo is of Kahlia, Tiana, Gracen and Zoe. They helped make the lunch. Zoe and Gracen did the kebabs on the blue platter. Kahlia and Tiana did the celery and carrot sticks on the red platter.By Jeni

Hemi's new earthquake game
Last week we had an earthquake drill. We got under the tables first and then we went outside fast and gathered on the field.
As a practice, I made up a game. Mrs Vercoe has to say eathquake 2 times and A3 has to go under the tables fast.
You have to go under 5 tables then it gets harder each time because you then go under 4 tables then 3 tables and 2 tables until there's only one table left.
You get out when you can't fit under a table.
Hemi was inspired by Mrs Stevens when she called the drill over the speakers.

Saturday netball (by Kahlia)
Last Saturday Glenholme Diamonds played against Rotokawa Huia, we lost 18-19. It was a close game because we only lost by 1. The player of the day was me. I played GK,WD and WA. It was a fun game, but we couldn't beat Mrs Vercoe's twins and their team mates. Our umpire was Whaea Vera and Mrs Vercoe umpired for the Rotokawa team.
